Huang Yiliang’s response to his daughter’s allegations are making headlines. The former actor says he is heartbroken after his daughter recently alleged that he had once hit her so badly that she had to be hospitalised for a week.

Speaking to his followers during a Facebook Live, the 60-year-old actor responded to daughter Chantalle’s allegations. He shared that his heart has been “ripped to shreds” by her interview on the talk show Hear U Out.

In his first live stream since the controversy, Huang said, “I have doted on you for so many years and yet you say these things. You shouldn’t have.”

Huang Yiliang’s Caning Incident Case Was Taken to Court

If you are unaware, Huang married Lin Meijiao in 1991 and the two became parents to Chantalle in 1995.  The couple divorced before Chantalle turned one.

Since her mum had her custody, she was allowed to visit her father once a week as a child.

At the talk show, the actress revealed that she was 11 when her father became angry with her for not performing well in Mathematics and hit her so badly that she had to be hospitalised for a week.

She further went on to reveal that when her mum intervened, he threatened to beat her as well. Chantalle vividly remembers shouting at her father then, pleading him not to hit her mother.

The matter was allegedly reported to the police and it was taken to the court as well. However, Lin eventually dropped the case because her child was stressed.

Sharing details on what led to the incident, the actor revealed that his daughter was easily distracted as a teenager. Further adding that her tuition centre teacher had complained that she was “very naughty.”

Huang said that he had never revealed this to Chantalle or even in front of the public to protect her image. But he can no longer keep silent, post all the allegations levelled against him.

Huang broke into a song and gesticulated wildly while addressing the allegations levied by his daughter. He mentioned that when he spoke in court, he asked for his daughter to be removed so his testimony wouldn’t affect her.

Recalling another incident, when he had brought Chantalle to the zoo with a group of other kids, he said while everyone else paid close attention when he was telling them about the animals, his daughter was very distracted.

He tried to justify the reason for hitting his daughter. He said it was out of concern and love for her.

“I was worried that you will be like this in class and I was quite surprised that you were able to go to university!” he noted.

In a recent episode on Quan Yi Fong’s talk show, Chantalle had opened about her strained relationship with her dad. When the controversial incident happened, Chantalle was in Primary 5, and her dad had just hired a tutor to prepare her for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) exams.

The tutor has given negative feedback about Chantalle’s performance, which angered Huang.

Ng, 26, shared that said she was frightened of her father and his volatile moods growing up. It got to a point, where she got very anxious the day before he had to meet him. She lost contact with him soon after the incident.

Her mum, on the other hand, didn’t believe in physical punishment. Till date, Chantalle is very close to her mum.

Huang Allocates 30% Of His Assets To Chantalle In His Will

Even though Chantalle and Lin are no longer a part of Huang’s life, he shared that he still included both of them in his will along with his current wife and son.

He further disclosed that he had allocated 30 per cent of his assets to Chantalle in his will and 20 per cent will go to his ex-wife Lin. Despite Chantalle deciding to open up about their relationship, Huang said that he will not change the arrangement made in his will.

The actor urged her daughter to not talk anymore about this as it might affect the ongoing court case.

He said, “Don’t keep saying how great your mum is while saying you were beaten by your cruel father. This may influence the judge and I might get 20 months in jail instead of 10. Will you come to visit me if that happens? Your dad is also very great, do you understand?”

Earlier this year, he was sentenced to  10 months’ jail for attacking a Bangladeshi worker with a metal scraper. But the 60-year-old actor claims that he is not as bad as the media projects him to be.
