Just how bad is secondhand smoke?
In three separate studies conducted by US researchers, it was discovered that secondhand smoke greatly affects the health of women and children.
1. Secondhand smoke causes vascular changes in children and obese teens posing risks for heart disease when they are adults. Not to mention that it can also cause respiratory diseases.
2. Children exposed to secondhand smoke will have very low levels of anti-oxidants making them prone to contracting diseases.
3. Women who are exposed to secondhand smoke for more than six hours a day whether as a child or adult will have a hard time getting pregnant and will most likely suffer from miscarriage.
All these findings are terrible and points to how dangerous exposure to secondhand smoke really is. Make sure you protect your whole family from the dangers of secondhand smoke.
