During an interview with late night show host Seth Meyers (who is expecting his first child with wife Alexi Ashe), Jennifer Garner gave out some pretty honest and entertaining advice.

When the host asked if there was any advice Jennifer wishes someone had given her prior to giving birth to her first child, Jen responded, “As much as you think that, ‘OK, I’m going to follow what this person says, I’m going to follow what that person says, I’m going to read this book and I’m going to have this birth plan,’” she said. “It’s not up to you, dude.”

Raising Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Sam, 3 while promoting her latest film ‘Miracles from Heaven’ is what’s keeping the actress busy these days.

She also maintains an amicable relationship with ex-husband Ben Affleck. The two still live in the same compound with their three kids as they finalise the divorce.

She also shared with Seth that reading parenting books did prepare her for motherhood but suggested that it may help Seth if he took a different approach and that’s just to “let it go.” (Referring to the hit animated movie ‘Frozen’).

“I did it all, but it doesn’t matter. Let it go, don’t worry about it,” she said.

“You’re going to struggle. It’s going to suck just like for everyone else.”

This is isn’t the only time Jennifer’s doled out entertaining parenting advice on a late night show. Around the same time last year, she dropped by ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon’ and cracked the new dad up with her simple mum wisdom.

“Take pictures,” Jennifer told Jimmy Fallon. “I mean, they just have their, you know, they have their moments. You’re driving to school and you kind of hear a yelp. You look in the rearview mirror and there’s just like a pinch happening – a pinch for the ages.”

She then opened up about how much of  a struggle it is to keep her three playful kids from picking on each other.

The actress revealed that  daughters Violet and Seraphina “have a knack” for caring for their brother 3-year-old brother Sam, saying,”They’re gonna go nuts.”
