According to the multi-ministry task force during the virtual conference, all children aged three years and above will be allowed to stay at home. This is if their homes have a suitable environment for recovery.

These children will also undergo a telemedicine assessment by either a community or hospital paediatrician

In an official statement by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday, infants and children three months to under three years of age will be allowed to recover at home. This is after they have been clinically assessed at hospitals and are suitable for the home recovery programme.

Meanwhile, all babies under three months old who are infected with COVID-19 will continue to be admitted to the hospital.

Home recovery allows better prioritisation of resources to patients who are severely ill or vulnerable. This is without compromising care to those who may younger with milder to no symptoms.

As per MOH, those who receive positive results for COVID-19 from HealthHub will receive an SMS informing them that they are on the home recovery programme.

The Health Ministry gives individuals the following reminders for when they get infected:

  • Immediately self-isolate from other household members in a separate room
  • Avoid interactive with anyone
  • Do not leave your house
  • Stay calm and monitor your health.
