Potter-heads, rejoice!

Your cries have been heard and the sequel to this popular book series-turned-movie is finally happening! Not on the silver screen though.

According to an official statement on Pottermore, the eighth edition has been revealed to be a two-part play — because of its “epic nature of the story”, and follows the life of Harry’s youngest son, Albus Severus.

Based on Rowling’s original story, the play will be directed by Olivier and Tony award-winner John Tiffany and it will debut in London’s West End in July 2016.

In a recent statement, Rowling mentioned, “The story only exists because the right group of people came together with a brilliant idea about how to present Harry Potter on stage.” “I’m confident that when audiences see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child they will understand why we chose to tell this story in this way.”

The play will feature a cast of over 30 actors and casting hasn’t been announced yet. Let’s just hope Daniel Radcliffe may just magically consider to reprise his original role as Harry.
