It might surprise you to hear that Singaporeans consider their family as top priority. We are constantly facing stress from our surroundings. Be it from work, relationships or self-expectations. When was the last time you snapped at someone close to you, be it your family member, partner, or child, unknowingly, or unable to focus during a conversation because you were distracted with other matters? Take a minute, just one minute and clear your mind of all distractions; think, what is the most important thing to you? The first word that pops is the answer.
The good news is that most Singaporeans consider family as top priority. According to a poll conducted by National Family Council (NFC) in April this year, out of 300 Singaporeans, 58.3% revealed that family was tops, followed by personal pursuits/interests (11%) and health (10.3%).
To demonstrate how important family was to these respondents, results showed 41.6% of them have meals with their families at least four times a week, and 4 in 10 respondents take time to go out with their families at least once a week.
