Ever wondered about the possibility of life on other planets? Well, National Geographic’s new TV series, MARS, lets you explore this futuristic possibility, by showcasing mankind’s thrilling, albeit fictional, quest to colonise Mars.

In conjunction with the show’s premiere this Sunday, the Experience Mars event is being held from 12-13 November at Palawan Beach, Sentosa. We got a sneak preview of what’s in store.

Water and housing on Mars

One of the main highlights was the display of Singapore University of Technology and Design’s (SUTD) very own Mars Aqua Retrieval System – a prototype of a specialised Martian rover, designed to mine for water on the red planet.

We also got to see what prospective housing on Mars would look like.
