When he isn’t busy sparring with Vin Diesel or being an all-around badass, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson busies himself with spreading hope to those who need it most.
He recently visited the children’s ward at Memorial University Medical center in Savannah, Georgia.
“Gotta tell ya little stuff like this will always be the best part of fame,” wrote Johnson in his Instagram post. “To all the kids I met — you guys keep smiling and staying strong. All the mamas and daddy’s I met, y’all stay strong too.”
“To all the kids I met — you guys keep smiling and staying strong…”
But it wasn’t the only time he visited. After hearing about a patient named Christopher who would really like to meet The Rock but was no longer in the children’s ward due to his age, he planned another visit.
Taking a break between filming scenes for his upcoming movie, “Baywatch”, he went to visit Christopher.
“Those scars are badges of honor and the reminder of how tough this kid is…”
The Rock renamed Christopher’s surgery scars his “battle scars”.
“Those scars are badges of honor and the reminder of how tough this kid is,” Johnson wrote. He ended the post with a reflection on his visit: “I’m glad I got a chance to shake the hand of this very strong and inspiring young man.”
It’s no wonder his heart is so close to kids since he’s a dad himself. He has a 14-year-old daughter, Simone, and a 3-month-old daughter named Jasmine.
It’s heartwarming to see the Rock gushing over his girls. Just recently, he posted a touching clip on Instagram of him serenading his newborn daughter while he carried her in his arms.
During a recent interview on Oprah’s Master Class, he got emotional talking about his 14-year-old daughter, Simone.
“When I held her when she was born, I held her in these two hands and I said to her, ‘I will always, always take care of you,” said The Rock. “For the rest of your life, you will be safe.'”
