Electrolux Singapore aims to highlight the very real issue of marine debris and its impact on marine life and the environment around the world through a special exhibition of the “Vacs from the Sea” vacuum cleaners, and a “Dreaming of a Greener Singapore” drawing competition.
These vacuum cleaners are designed to include fragments of bottles, drink cans, beach toys, bottle caps, plastic and other things gathered from the shores of the Pacific and Indian Oceans and the North, Mediterranean and the Baltic Seas. Each vacuum cleaner represents the sea or ocean from which the fragments were taken.
They also demonstrate the eco-friendly home appliances manufacturer commitment to a greener living. The “Vacs from the Sea” collection will showcase three of these five unique vacuum cleaners in Singapore in September.
Drawing Competion
“A green conscience is a clean conscience,” says Koh Soh Hoie, General Manager for Electrolux Singapore and Malaysia.
To get ourchildren involved in preserving and conserving the earth’s natural resources, Electrolux Singapore is sponsoring an artwork competition open to children 12 years old and below.
Criteria: submit a 2D creative drawing of your child’s dreams for a greener Singapore in A3-sized paper, with a caption of no more than 50 words explaining the inspiration behind the design.
Include details of the child and the parent’s full name, NRIC and passport number along with the parent’s contact information such as mailing address, email address and contact numbers.
Deadline: Valid entries must be posted to Turning Our Little Red Dot Green, Electrolux SEA c/o 88a Club Street, Singapore 069456 no later than Friday, 6th August 2011. Submitted entries will not be returned.

Prize: Artworks of three lucky young artists will have their designs professionally mounted and framed on the exterior of an Electrolux EWF10751 washing machine. They will also win the following green home prizes:
- FIRST prize (worth S$5,400) – includes an Electrolux refrigerator, Electrolux front load washer and tumble dryer, an Electrolux Ultrasilencer green vacuum cleaner and a S$200 gift voucher.
- SECOND prize (worth S$2,750) – comprising of an Electrolux front load washer and dryer, an Electrolux Ultrasilencer green vacuum cleaner and a S$150 gift voucher.
- THIRD prize (worth S$450) – includes an Electrolux Ultrasilencer green vacuum cleaner and a S$50 gift voucher.
Winners are determined by the number of votes garnered online via the Electrolux Little White Book Facebook fanpage and the decision of the Electrolux design judges. The names of the winners will be announced by August 19, 2011.
