Wedding bells are ringing for Singapore DJ Bernard Lim again.

The 51-year-old radio deejay, who divorced in 2007, will remarry this Saturday (27 July 2019) with a simple lunchtime wedding.

The bride is Pim Suvarnakuta, a Thai public relations and marketing executive.

He told The Straits Times: “We also recognise that Minnie is the reason that we should commit ourselves to each other. We want to be her parents and be responsible for bringing her up.”

According to the media veteran, the 16-month-old’s father does not object to the move.

Bernard and Pim, 37, first met in 2009 at the Pattaya golf course where she was working, reported The Straits Times.

At that time, he had left Mediacorp and joined entertainment group LifeBrandz, which ran now-defunct lifestyle venues such as Cafe Del Mar and Ministry of Sound.

The two eventually grew closer and when he was working in Cambodia between 2017 and 2018, they regularly flew to meet up.

On the subject of children, he said: “We’re not young anymore and if it’s just Minnie, then it’s just Minnie.”

Bernard made his name at radio station Perfect 10, now called 987, and is also known for hosting the television game show, Wheel Of Fortune.

He went off air in 1996 and eventually became a vice-president at Mediacorp.

In 2013, he rejoined the broadcaster as managing director for television.

The following year, he had to undergo two operations after suffering a stroke.

He returned to the airwaves with Singapore Press Holdings’ Money FM 89.3 last year.

Guests expected at the wedding are couples Glenn Ong and Jean Danker – both deejays as well – and Beatrice Chia-Richmond and Mark Richmond.

Bernard was previously married to a Singaporean air stewardess for seven years.
