Some husbands place flowers on their deceased wife’s grave while others set up a charity in their name. But passionate husbands like Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan like to go over the top and build the Taj Mahal for her. Inspired by Shah Jahan’s inspiring and breath-taking monument, a 77-year old husband recently built a mini Taj Mahal in honour of his deceased wife too.
Mini Taj Mahal
Faizul Hasan Kadari is a retired postmaster who recently made news headlines because of his current mini Taj Mahal project. Kadari made a 50 x 50 feet version of the iconic tomb as a symbol of his love and promise to his wife. Unlike the original, this mini Taj Mahal isn’t made of white marble but from cement, iron, sandstone and red-stone.
As far as construction is concerned, Kadari has already spent most of his life savings and his pension creating the ambitious structure. Additionally, this extraordinary husband built the mini Taj Mahal by selling off land and family heirlooms.
The Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal is a world famous structure in India that was built out of a husband’s love for his wife. When Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan’s third wife, Mumtaz Mahal died, he chose to deal with his grief by having a beautiful tomb built in 1631. He named the monument Taj Mahal in honour of his deceased wife. Constructed out of white marble, the Taj Mahal houses both Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal’s graves.

Monetary issues
Kadari’s special project for his wife is currently being put on hold due to lack of finances. Although numerous individuals have offered help via monetary donations, Kadari refused to accept a single cent from anyone. He said that he will finish the structure on his own and without any help from others, even his relatives.
Sign of devotion
Kadari and his wife had been together for many years but didn’t have any children. When his wife raised a concern that they would be forgotten after their deaths due to the lack of heirs, Kadari promised that he will create a grave that everyone will remember forever. This is why he decided to start building the mini Taj Mahal in 2011.
There are many people who discouraged Kadari from wasting away his money on the monument replica. But Kadari refused to stop. He said that he plans to finish the structure before he dies. He built the mini Taj Mahal for personal reasons but it is continuously getting attention from both locals and tourists who all want to visit. Although it still lacks the fountain and other accents of the original, Kadari’s mini Taj Mahal is a sight to behold and the story behind it is even more touching. The mini Taj Mahal is located in rural Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh State, India and houses the grave of Kadari’s late wife.
