The Straits Times reports that about 180 primary and secondary students will become “cyber wellness ambassadors” in their respective schools after they finish a 2-day workshop on cyber issues.
The workshop is organized by the Ministry of Education, Microsoft Singapore and Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. It features topics such as copyright, password protection and cyber bullying.
After attending the workshop, these students will be ready to teach their friends how to have safe online habits. They are expected to spread the message through skits, online forums and blogs.
This educational project is very useful as more and more kids are becoming active participants in the global online community. Who’s more qualified to teach kids than their friends themselves?
