COVID-19: Learning Vision Preschool in Kent Ridge Temporarily Closed After Teacher Tests Positive

Yet another preschool centre has been temporarily closed, this time a preschool centre ran by Learning Vision located at 1 Lower Kent Ridge Road, after a teacher tested positive for COVID-19.

The teacher was last in the centre on 9 April.

Learning Vision in Kent Ridge To Temporarily Close

As a result, the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) said on Wednesday (15 April) that the preschool, will be shut from Thursday to 23 April. This covers the two-week incubation period since the teacher was confirmed to have the virus infection.

According to ECDA, all affected staff and children will be placed on leave of absence during the closure. The centre will conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the school, ECDA added.

Barring any new developments, the centre will resume providing child care for a group of parents who are working in essential services and are unable to find alternative care for their children, from 24 April. It can be noted that all preschools and child care centres have been suspended since 8 April, following the government’s implementation of the circuit breakers aimed at curbing further spread of the virus here.

My First Skool centre in Sengkang will be closed was closed from Wednesday (15 April), after a teaching staff tested positive for the virus infection.

Separately, a pupil at E-Bridge Preschool in Jurong West also tested positive for COVID-19 on 8 April, forcing a week of a temporary closure of the preschool centre at 140 Corporation Drive.

On the same day, in a separate case, another COVID-19 case involving a teacher at a preschool centre run by My First Skool in Ang Mo Kio was also confirmed, which led to the temporary closure of the said centre for two weeks.

As of Wednesday noon, Singapore has reported 3,699 COVID-19 cases from which 652 have recovered. 10 have died due to complications from the virus infection.
