As parents, we find that a few topics are difficult to bring up as our children grow older, such as the birds and the bees. But actress Constance Song, known to be a Tiger Mum of her family, is all prepared to talk to her two daughters about sex education.
In a recent interview with entertainment magazine UWeekly, Song said she wanted to talk to her little girls about it as soon as possible.
Constance Song Is Ready To Talk To Her Daughters About Sex
For her two daughters, Olethea and Eloise, Constance Song is ready to talk about sex with them and said she would not shy away from the topic in the future when they do ask.
As her eldest daughter, Olethea, will be turning five years old soon and is already attending school, the actress has already given her some points on how she should protect her body.
“I told her, ‘You can’t let your male teachers bring you to the toilet or change your clothes. Your male classmates can’t touch your body as well’,” said the celeb mum as per The New Paper. “She had to know all these, (it’s) the first step to learning how to protect herself.”
In the interview, she also agreed about specific things that you have to worry about when you have a daughter.
But while there are a lot of things to stress about when raising girls, she said, “Regardless of whether your child is male or female, you’ll have different things to worry about. If you have a son, you’ll also worry that he might knock someone up.”
Other Celeb Parents Who Are Open To Talking About Sex With Their Kids
Actress Constance Song is not alone in making sure there is proper sex education in her family as other celebrity parents also have their own way of approaching the topic with their kids.
Just earlier this year, Jacelyn Tay shared how she carefully answered some of her son Zavier’s questions about sex. While she has taken down the Instagram post, Jacelyn has shared that she has “given him sex education before and taught him to stay pure”.
Lion Mums star Lina Ng has also recently talked about how she does not avoid talking about the topic of sex with her three sons. She said she’s always open to talking about it with them and welcomes any questions they may have.
When she realised they stopped asking questions, probably because they were uncomfortable discussing it with a woman, she then sent her husband to ensure their sons get proper sex education.
