Adapting to life after a new baby can be tough enough. But adapting back into your work life post baby can be heartbreakingly difficult for most mums.

Her lineage does not make Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, an exception. She recently shared her struggles in trying to juggle breastfeeding with her professional commitments, after the birth to her daughter, Charlotte Mezvinsky.

With one year of mum-hood under her belt, Chelsea Clinton keeps it real when talking about life as a new mother. She says part of the experience was “swallowing my pride and being comfortable with pumping in airport bathrooms.”

She echoes the thoughts of many mums on the problems of going back to work after having a baby. In a recent interview, she says, “I wish there had sort of been a guidebook on how do you think about this really, and how do you make this work?”

In the meantime, Chelsea, husband Mark Mezvinsky, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton are enjoying fun-filled moments with their precious little girl – word is that they’ve even spoilt her with a first birthday party!
