We’ve heard of many situations where breastfeeding mums have faced rude comments if they need to nurse their little ones in public.

Unfortunately, there are people who don’t understand the naturalness of the situation and make it difficult for a breastfeeding mum if she has to nurse when outdoors. Thankfully, there are super mums like Brittni Medina who don’t shy away from what is a perfectly natural act, and take shamers to task instead.

Breastfeeding mum Brittni Medina shares her experience:

Brittni ensures that her 10-month-old son is well-fed on demand, whether or not people are watching them. However, she recently encountered a not-so-nice reaction from two women when she was nursing her son at Disneyland.

Her husband clicked these two unsuspecting ladies, capturing their reaction on camera.

Brittni then took to Facebook and expressed her views about those who shame nursing mums in public. She says: “So we are [annual passholders] and go to Disney often. Well, my little man is 10 months and [breastfeeding]! So we’re pretty comfortable feeding anywhere; any way. Well, these ladies were so angry by it my husband just had to take a picture. Peep the haters. Characters of the day. Just had to get a picture!”

Later on, she also added an extremely important point. She says: “Because people want to act all bent out of shape, no I was not walking around feeding him in this moment ( I have tho [sic] before and would do it again). I was standing in a very long line to get our picture taken. My son got hungry and I wasn’t going to wait in another line again. So I took off my first top and nursed. These women were making snarky comments so I moved from my spot to catch a picture with these characters. Not for attention for me, but attention to the fact NO WOMAN SHOULD BE SHAMED FOR FEEDING THEIR BABY UNCOVERED.”

“Looks on their faces were priceless”

In an interview with Popsugar, Brittny clarified: “I actually stepped a little over to get them in the picture because they were talking loudly saying how I should go to the restroom to feed. I was happy my husband could capture me and my son happily feeding and I thought the looks on their faces were priceless. I mean, how could they be so mad?”

This young mum feels that whatever you do, people are likely to criticize you and your choices. So you’d rather do what makes you happy.
