6# Coding Lab

Founded by an MIT Alumnus who worked in Silicon Valley, Coding Lab’s MIT-inspired curriculum challenges your child to excel with fun and engaging, hands-on courses taught by dedicated staff, all set in a rustic, yet a tech-immersive environment in a boardroom-style setting. Be sure to try out their Tinker corner, where you’ll find the latest and best-in-class tech toys shipped directly from Kickstarter or Silicon Valley. Coding Lab offers classes for ages 4 and up, in both Singapore and Perth.

This Children’s day, they have some special workshops. Candice from the Coding Lab tells us more about the events:

Children’s Day Workshop – Five Little Monkeys (Ages 4-6)
Start your preschoolers on coding with our adaptation of Five Little Monkeys, inspired by the popular Nursery rhyme. Kids get to draw their own monkeys, learn how to direct them with command blocks using Scratch Junior on the tablet, and record their own narration to go along. (Tablets are provided, so just come, and have a blast, parents!)

Children’s Day Workshop – Shoot the Cats! (Ages 7-12)
Who can get the highest score? In this 120-minute coding workshop, Kids get to create their very own first-person shooter game and set their own rules for the game to let their friends play. They will learn how to command characters using programming blocks in Scratch, and add variables such as score in. As “game-masters”, this workshop will provide them an insight into the life of a game developer. Laptops are provided, so do come and join us for our ultimate shoot-out!

Venue:  264 Upper Bukit Timah Road #03-06, Singapore 588208
Entrance Fees: $50 for a 2-hour session. Get $5 off if 2 slots are booked
