A number of pupils at the Damai Primary School got the chance to bring their parents to school and show them what goes on in a typical school day. For most of these parents, being part of their children’s education only means paying for the school fees, and driving their little ones to and from the school. So this event was a perfect way for them to really understand what goes on in their children’s school.

As the parents attended their children’s classes and participated in various activities, they got a clear picture of how the MOE’s initiatives are being implemented in the classroom. The school administration is hopeful that the connection between the school and parents will be strengthened through this event.

According to a report by Channel News Asia, the children were thrilled to see their parents learning in school with them. One particular pupil even got to teach her mother how to use the computer. A parent thought, however, that the time for the event was too short. But she added that it was a great way for her to spend quality time with her child.
