New mum and dad Ceyda and Murat Engin were ecstatic when their baby Çinar was born, but they weren’t aware that their little one had another surprise waiting for them. That’s because little Çinar was born with a beautiful heart-shaped birthmark on his forehead.

The tot’s heart-shaped birthmark was so cute that even the nurses in the delivery room were taking selfies with him. His birthmark quickly made him a star in the hospital, and his parents even said that he already had a lot of fans!

His father, Murat, shared, “After a nurse cleaned the blood on his head I was the first who see the birthmark on his head. I was really surprised. When I came to close his head I realised that it was an amazing heart. It was difficult for me to keep my tears.”

His parents added that whenever they go out with their little bub, a lot of his fans stop and snap photos of Çinar and his wonderful birthmark.

“It was really like a gift from God. None of us had negative feelings,” his father added.

First off, there are two main types of birthmarks which are vascular and pigmented birthmarks.

Pigmented birthmarks or birthmarks caused by excess pigmentation in the skin usually appear to have a brown or brownish color, and are caused by clusters of pigment cells that cause the discoloration.

Vascular birthmarks, on the other hand, are different from pigmented birthmarks in that they’re caused by abnormal blood vessels under the skin. These are usually red, pink, or purple in color.

Some fast facts about baby birthmarks:

  1. Medical science still isn’t clear about why birthmarks happen in the first place.
  2. Various patterns of birthmarks can appear, and they can appear in various parts of the body.
  3. Birthmarks shouldn’t generally be any cause for concern, and most birthmarks disappear as the child grows older.
  4. On the other hand, some birthmarks can be more permanent and last throughout a person’s life.
  5. There are types of birthmarks that are cancerous, but these are extremely rare cases.

For the most part, mums and dads shouldn’t be too worried if their child is born with a birthmark. If there is some concern about your baby’s birthmark, then don’t hesitate to consult your doctor about it so that they can observe and check to see if there’s anything to be worried about.
