Social service agency, AWWA Ltd, has launched a new inclusion resource portal, www.include.sg today.
AWWA has been on a mission of inclusion since its inception in 1970, and its new site aims to be a resource centre for anyone who is interested in taking a step towards promoting inclusion in educational settings.

Visitors to the site will be able to find a wealth of content and resources curated from AWWA’s well-established Inclusion Experts Series, which has featured various international practitioners since 2018.
The series will also soon feature local experts and practitioners who can share their knowledge and best practices with the local community here.
The website also carries contributions of inspirational stories from the community, as well as staff, practical guidance including self-assessment toolkits, hands-on tips from inclusion professionals, and curated links to local and overseas resources.
Visitors can look forward to fresh content monthly, and can stay updated on the latest developments on the site by subscribing to the platform.

Ms Rahayu Mahzam, an advocate for persons with special needs, said, “As an advocate for support for children with developmental needs I applaud AWWA’s launch of its inclusion resource portal – include.sg. I am heartened to know that the portal will provide practical tools for our educators who are keen to implement inclusive practices in their classrooms. Such efforts will instil greater understanding and empathy among our young students for each other, regardless of their learning needs and backgrounds. It is my hope that we can move towards greater acceptance of persons with additional needs, recognising them as valuable members of society.”

That is why we have developed this portal, to allow anyone, including preschool and primary school teachers, students, support professionals and caregivers, to access a variety of resources such as explanatory material, toolkits, videos and inspirational stories. We hope our online resources will allow us to spark conversations, take the first small steps, and continue our individual journeys of building respectful and inclusive spaces.”

It is a journey we take with different people from different walks of life, where we learn and share from others. There is a suite of downloadable tools and materials that can be printed for use in a teacher’s classroom as part of a class activity, classroom decoration or conversation starters, and we strive to upload new content monthly.”
