If you haven’t seen or Heaven forbid, heard of Avatar, it’s time to move out because obviously that rock, you’re living under, is doing you no good!
Avatar is close to becoming the biggest movie ever since “Titanic” topped the charts. This futuristic science fiction film has wowed millions of viewers all over the world as they considered it to be a breakthrough film in terms of technology.
This film is set sometime in 2154 in Pandora, one of the moons in the Alpha Centauri star system. Humans are engaged in mining unobtanium, a precious mineral that can be found in Pandora. Now the Na’vi, the humanoids in Pandora, are trying to resist the efforts of the humans to colonize Pandora. Avatars are actually the genetically engineered bodies that some of the humans used to interact with the natives of Pandora.
The film was released in the traditional 2-D format, as well as in 3-D. Many people are particularly impressed with the technology that James Cameron, the director, used in this film. He specifically used cameras that were designed just to achieve the results that he desired for Avatar. Kids as well as parents really loved the amazing 3-D effects.
