Impact on sleep deprivation
It is a known fact that when we do not get enough sleep, our memory, concentration, alertness and mood are affected. Daytime sleepiness will lead to poor school or work performance.
Left untreated, long term sleep disturbances decrease quality of life, and can lead to increased morbidity and mortality. These serious short and long term consequences of sleep deprivation reflect the important restorative functions of sleep.
The Singapore Sleep Awareness Week 2012 hopes to encourage Singaporeans to “Sleep for Success” and everyone can learn to make sleep a priority to achieve good sleep for good health.
