While Pang said, “In this big family, I’ve gotten a lot of friendship and have also built my own family. In this life, there is more than one milestone, because of my family and children, I need more time and space to realise my dreams.”

According to The Straits Times, Chen and Pang’s contracts with Mediacorp ended on Oct 31.

Over the last decade, Chen has acted in popular Mediacorp dramas such as The Little Nyonya (2008), Prosperity (2011), The Journey trilogy series (2013-2015). He was most recently seen as Chong Meng in Lion Mums 2.

They ended up dating secretly for over a year before announcing their marriage in November 2013. Their son, Aden was born in June 2014, while their daughter, Avery, arrived last June.

As they both get ready to move on to the next stage in their careers, there is no bitterness or animosity.

Chen writes, “Most of my 10 years in acting, I was attached to the company (Mediacorp). They have given me a start in my career, a channel to explore my passions and most importantly they played a big part in the formation of my family.”

“For these reasons and more, I’ll forever be grateful, and I am happy to be moving on to the next stage of my career with their blessings.”

“The end of my contract is by no means an end to my relationship with Mediacorp, we are still working on projects currently and will be working together regularly in the future.”
