With rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in Singapore, some happy, positive news is always welcome. Congratulations to local actor Maxi Lim and his wife Liz! The couple announced late last night (April 17) that they are expecting a child.

The couple's marriage plans were derailed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and so they held a small solemnisation ceremony in March, postponing their banquet dinner to December.

"We are Super excited, so do check out our announcement video! Link on bio. #babyannouncement #EatBi #Eatbro #EatBae," the post said.

Maxi, 33, also shared photos of the wedding "gate-crash", a traditional — and usually arduous — activity where the groom and his best men have to complete a series of tasks before the former can meet his bride. He got his Ah Boys To Men co-stars Tosh Zhang, Joshua Tan, Wang Weiliang, and Noah Yap as his 'brothers', and from their pained expressions, it looked like they didn't have an easy time.

In a YouTube video where they talked about planning their wedding in 30 days, Liz said: "After the proposal, one or two persons asked me about it. 'Why so fast propose? Is it because you're pregnant?' I just said yes."

Maxi added that the foetus is healthy, and while they don't know the gender yet, he's hoping it would be a boy.
