As if we needed more reasons to love Adele.
The singer and mum-of one recently took time out of her busy schedule to visit one of her biggest fans, 12-year-old Rebecca Gibney.
Because of her cerebral palsy and epilepsy, Rebecca spends her days in bed, unable to walk or communicate; her only source of nutrients are supplements given to her through a feeding tube.
Her room in Belfast, Northern Ireland is constantly filled with Adele’s music. The young girl loves Adele so much that she listens to nothing but her albums.
So you can just imagine how overjoyed her parents were when Adele arrived at their doorstep.
It all began as a distant dream.
Rebecca’s mum Tracy started an online campaign to make her beloved daughter’s dream of meeting her hero come true.
Tracy told Belfast Live that she was able to get ahold of the email Adele’s manager. After sending her request, she didn’t hear back immediately.
She followed up again, knowing that Adele would be performing in Belfast.
“I shouted at the hairdresser, ‘Get this off my head, I need to go,'” she told Belfast Telegraph. “It is unbelievable her dream has come true. Adele was just so nice.”
“Adele played with her hair, and held her hand and asked her all about Frozen,” she added to the Belfast Telegraph. “She was really lovely.”
Despite the fact that Rebecca isn’t well enough to see her in concert, Adele still offered to give them tickets to the show.
Sadly, doctors only gave Rebecca six months to live.
“It’s amazing. I’ll never forget it. And I do know that when Rebecca passes away she did get her dream come true,” Tracy told the BBC. “It’s made me feel like I’m the best mummy in the world which I never felt. Adele told me I was the best mummy in the world too.”
