For this year’s record-breaking feat, 5,555 pieces of Taiyaki will be used to construct The Largest Taiyaki Display. Taiyaki, a popular Japanese waffle pancake with sweet fillings, aligns well with AMK Hub’s 5th Anniversary, for its representation of wealth, good luck and prosperity. The record-breaking event will be held on 1 September, 12pm at the Basement 1 Exhibition Hall. This exciting event will be graced by Mr Seng Han Thong, Member of Parliament for Ang Mo Kio GRC. The Taiyaki Sale will go towards The Woodbridge Hospital Endowment Fund.
AMK Hub’s 5th Anniversary Celebrations (1 – 9 September)
From 1 to 9 September, kids can have fun baking their own 2-piece Taiyakis at the Taiyaki-making Workshop with a donation of $5. All proceeds from the Taiyaki-making Workshop will go towards The Woodbridge Hospital Endowment Fund.
The festivities do not end here! From 1 to 9 September, AMK Hub’s B1 Exhibition Hall will be transformed into a mini carnival area with gaming booths and food kiosks selling all-time favourites such as Taiwan rice cracker, ice-cream, candy floss and more! To sweeten the celebrations, shoppers with a minimum spending of $30 (in a single receipt) can redeem an entry pass to the gaming area where kids can have fun playing exciting games. Shoppers can also choose to donate $5 for an entry pass.
Performances Galore (1, 2, 8 & 9 September)
Shoppers will be treated to a host of entertaining performances at the B1 Exhibition Hall. On 1 and 2 September, shoppers can catch Yio Chu Kang Community Club’s Japanese Taiko Drum troupe as well as cha-cha dance performance by lively kids from their club! Enjoy enthralling performances by the VSOP choir from the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). Shoppers can revel in the artistic creations of a balloonist or simply let their hair down and participate in the stage games. The performances each day are at 12.30pm, 2pm, 4pm and 5pm and admission is free. Shoppers can also bring home the beautiful handicrafts, specially made by the artistic patients from IMH. All proceeds will go towards The Woodbridge Hospital Endowment Fund.
Charity Auction at the Basement 1 Exhibition Hall (1 & 8 September)
Shoppers can put in a bid for attractive items such as a Kinect Star Wars Bundle, a CITIGEMS diamond pendant, an XPERIATM smartphone, a LG Optimus phone, an OSIM uFoot Massager, movie passes and many more! These products are generously sponsored by AMK Hub’s retailers for the Charity Auction on 1 and 8 September. Proceeds from the Charity Auction will also go towards The Woodbridge Hospital Endowment Fund.
