Though you can’t go wrong with the right diet and exercise, if you’re in need of an extra push on your weight loss journey, try these weird weight loss tips. They may sound bizarre, but they might actually be able to help!

1. Eat something sweet with breakfast

For those of you with a sweet tooth, we suggest that you add something sweet to your breakfast—some chocolate chips in your oats or a strawberry crepe, maybe. This’ll prevent you from binging on a pint of ice cream later in the day.

2. Eat a bigger breakfast

Studies have shown that people who eat larger breakfasts generally lose more weight than those who ate a smaller breakfast.

3. Drink warm water

5. Eat with blue

Studies have shown that the colors red, yellow, and orange stimulates the appetite, while the color blue does the opposite. And so, it follows that serving your food on blue plates and using a blue tablecloth and napkins can curb your appetite.

6. Take a cold shower

The human body has two types of fat tissue: white fat and brown fat. Brown fat generates heat to keep our bodies warm; exposure to cold temperatures activates brown fat and helps you lose it.

7. Tie a ribbon around your waist

Take your cue from French women, many of whom tie ribbons around their waist (under their clothes, of course), to monitor their food intake. When it gets tight, that means it’s time to stop eating.

8. Have a mint

Mint not only freshens your breath, but also suppresses your appetite. Instead of asking for a second helping of dessert, just sip a peppermint tea.

9. Avoid food commercials

Research has shown that ads for junk food stimulates the appetite, so it’s best to avoid commercials entirely. That’s what Netflix is for!
