On Tuesday (20 Oct), a secondary two Spectra Secondary School student was found lying unconscious on the school grounds after she fell while attempting to perform a parkour move.
Parkour is a sport that is done in an urban environment where running, jumping and climbing is involved and done rapidly.
An AsiaOne report stated that the girl may have misjudged the distance of the jump, fell down from the fourth floor and landed on concrete ground.
According to sources, the police received a call requesting for assistance around 9:30AM, and were dispatched to the scene at 1 Woodlands Drive 64 immediately.
The girl was taken to Khoo Teck Puat hospital by ambulance, and subsequently transferred to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital where she passed away.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our student. The school is providing support to the family as well as to the school community,” said a Spectra Secondary School representative.
