Human Library: What's Your Passion? Uncovering Stories at the National Library

Join an intergenerational journey of learning and discovery at the Human Library event in Singapore's National Library. Don't miss out!

Visitors to the National Library in Singapore on October 6th, from 3 pm to 6 pm, are in for a unique and captivating experience. The Human Library, an event open exclusively to members of the National Library Board aged 50 and above, promises an intergenerational journey of learning and discovery.

The Human Library Experience

At the Human Library, people become living “books.” Each individual has a story to share, a passion to ignite, and a journey to reveal. This event celebrates the captivating tales of seven remarkable individuals, all passionate about their respective fields. Like selecting a book from a shelf, attendees can “borrow” these individuals to learn about their passions, the spark that ignited them, and how they sustain their enthusiasm.

A Diverse Cast of Passionate Individuals

The Human Library’s intergenerational edition boasts a diverse cast of individuals, spanning ages from their 30s to 60s, hailing from various fields of arts, culture, and craft. Their stories resonate across generations, making this event truly inclusive.

Niranjan Pandian, a 30-year-old Indian Classical Flautist, Cross-Cultural Musician, and Creative Producer, bridges cultures and generations through performances, musical compositions, and productions, showcasing the power of music in connecting people.

Noorlinah Mohamed, aged 55, is a Theatre Artist, Arts Educator, and Creative Producer committed to connecting people of all ages with the transformative power of the arts, illustrating the profound impact of creativity.

Richard Koh, 61, is an Upcycling Advocate who transforms trash into treasures by creating memorable and functional objects. His passion for sustainability demonstrates how creativity can contribute to environmental preservation.

Embrace the Learning Journey

The Human Library isn’t just an event; it’s an opportunity to embrace the joy of learning, connect with passionate individuals, and gain insights into diverse fields. It encourages open-mindedness, curiosity, and the exchange of ideas, much like flipping through the pages of a book.
