More about the performances

Ballet Under the Stars returns this July at Fort Canning Park with two weekends of exquisite dancing! From 19 – 21 July, it’ll be a weekend of contemporary dance featuring Australia’s Expressions Dance Company. From 26 – 28 July, SDT will be presenting the heart-wrenching full-length classical ballet, Giselle.

  • Evening of  Contemporary Dance (19-21 July)

Absence of Story by Toru Shimazaki

Absence of Story is danced to the music of Brahms, and is a stirring piece without story or words in hope of not causing distraction to the beauty and the power of music.

  • Giselle (26-28 July)

Giselle is one of the golden romantic classical ballets which retells the tragic tale of love and betrayal. It is a ballet that is included in the repertoire of virtually every classical company in the world. Be captivated by this hauntingly beautiful ballet which tells the tale of a peasant girl who falls in love with a prince, only to have it all transcend into heartbreak and tragedy.
