5 tips to sweat-proof your makeup

Hot, humid weather? Stay fab in the heat with these tips

Monsoon season is upon us, and with the rains come the humidity that threatens to wreak havoc on our faces. Keep your makeup from melting off your face with these sweat-proofing tips.

1. Use a makeup setting spray

Before and after applying makeup, spritz your face with a setting spray to prevent your hard work from smudging and melting off.

2. Prime

This is one essential step that can make all your makeup long-wear. After cleansing, toning, and moisturizing, prime your skin with a matte finish, which lasts longer without a greasy finish.

3. Line them lips

To keep your lip color from bleeding, line your lips first before applying your lipstick. To make your lips look matte, you can dab translucent powder on top of your lipstick. This also makes your lip color last longer.

4. Avoid heavy makeup

With humid weather, layers and layers of heavy makeup that could potentially melt down your face is a no-no. Less is more, so go for pigmented makeup. Use a waterproof mascara, and opt for lighter, fresh colors.

5. Choose powders.

Powder makeup usually lasts longer than their cream or liquid counterparts. They make-up also tends to crease less. You could, however, opt for a tint or a cream for your blush as they look more natural and blend easier.
