As parents, our hearts break when we hear about tragedies that claim the lives of young individuals with so much potential. The Tampines accident involved four cars, a van, and a minibus, creating a scene of chaos and destruction.

Moreover, the incident claimed the life of Afifah, who was in her father's car at the time, along with a 57-year-old woman who was a passenger in the van.

Furthermore, the accident injured six others, who were subsequently taken to the hospital. Among them was Afifah's father, Muhammad Azril, who underwent surgery and remains hospitalized.

Community Mourns the Loss of Promising Student

Friends and family remember Afifah as a carefree, kind, and dedicated individual who committed herself to making a difference.

Her schoolmate, Claire Wong, described her as an amazing friend, emphasizing that simply referring to Afifah by her name doesn't encapsulate the profound impact she had on the lives of so many people.

As parents, we must take a moment to reflect on the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with our children.

Let us honour the memory of Afifah and the other victims by supporting our loved ones, fostering resilience in the face of adversity, and encouraging our children to make a positive difference in the world — just as Afifah did in her short but impactful life.
