What Are the Recommended Sex Positions for Conceiving a Boy?

What Are the Recommended Sex Positions for Conceiving a Boy?

For mums and dads who want to have little boy of their own, these sex positions to conceive a boy would work pretty well!

Would you just love to add a little boy to your family? While it may sound nice to have the option to choose your child’s gender, the reality is that outside of a laboratory, there are no other known methods of being able to do so.

However, some sex positions can greatly increase your chances of conceiving either gender. Earlier, we brought you an article on sex positions to conceive a baby girl.

This article brings you information on three sex positions that may help you conceive a baby boy! But before we tell you what they are…

How is a baby’s gender determined?

What Are the Recommended Sex Positions for Conceiving a Boy?

It’s important for mums and dads to know about how exactly their baby’s gender is determined and how different sex positions can help with this.

The main theory behind using various sex positions to conceive either gender lies in the fact that there are male and female sperm cells.

Male sperm cells which contain a Y chromosome, combine with the X chromosome in the woman’s egg cell in order to produce a baby boy (XY).

Female sperm cells, on the other hand, contain an X chromosome which combined with the X chromosome of the egg cell, produces a baby girl (XX).

Another main difference that male and female sperm cells have is that male sperm cells are smaller, but swim faster compared to female sperm cells. On the other hand, female sperm cells are a bit slower, but they are hardier and tend to live longer than male sperm cells.

The sex positions to conceive a boy are said to give an advantage to the male sperm cells so that they can fertilise the egg cell faster than the female sperm.

Of course, these haven’t been proven by science, but there’s really nothing wrong with trying them out!

Sex positions to conceive a boy

1. Doing it from behind

Also known as “doggie style,” this method supposedly helps couples have a baby boy since when the man ejaculates, the sperm gets deposited closer to the woman’s cervix. The theory behind this is that male sperm are faster, but they don’t live as long as female sperm do.

This means that they only need to swim a short distance to the woman’s cervix in order to fertilise the egg!

2. Having sex while standing up or sitting down

Having sex while standing up or sitting down helps ensure that there’s deeper penetration and thus helps the male sperm fertilise the egg cell faster.

Another theory behind this is that since you’re not lying down, the sperm would have to swim against gravity, and that gives the faster male sperm an advantage compared to female sperm.

3. Choose a position that makes it easier for you to orgasm, such as woman on top

Aside from being more pleasurable, choosing a position that allows the woman an easier orgasm can give an advantage to male sperm. That’s because whenever a woman orgasms, her vagina becomes more alkaline, and male sperm can handle an alkaline environment better than female sperm.

A good recommendation is for mums to be on top, so that they can control the pace and the depth of penetration which makes it easier for mums to achieve orgasm!

There you have it, a list of the best sex positions to conceive a boy! Have fun trying them out, and we wish you the best of luck!
