The First Trimester
Congratulations! You may be having morning sickness or experiencing lowered sex drive so you need something with less effort.
Couples should exercise caution during intercourse in the first 12 weeks since this is when most miscarriages happen. Bleeding and pain are normal, but a trip to the doctor is always a good idea.
But in terms of discomfort, your usual favourite positions are quite all right since the uterus is still small and the baby has not descended.
Whatever you’re feeling, keep in mind that you won’t be able to get full body contact with your hubby until you’ve healed after delivery—so now is the time to get your skinship fixed.
The Toad
The Classic
The Lotus Blossom
The Sidekick
The second trimester
Your baby bump has grown and you may be getting your libido back—or better yet, it never left! You have to make some changes for your comfort, especially if you want to get down and dirty in bed.
Pregnancies are less likely to miscarry during the second trimester, but you still have to consult your OB regularly and report your sexual activity (yes mummies, you have to!).
There are no ‘best positions’ except what keeps you comfy. Having sex does not harm the baby, and the change of position is to help you derive pleasure from the sexual act.
The Supernova
The Fan
The Ship
The Frog
The Third Trimester
You feel bloated, tired from carrying all that weight and are about to burst—and he still wants you badly? Lucky girl! Here are some great positions to try out in the months or weeks just before you pop.
Again, having sex will not harm your baby. Changing positions is only advised to lessen the discomfort for the pregnant mum.
These positions could be the easiest for women and offer them the most control and least penetration. Enjoy!
The Curled Angel
The Basket
The Shoulder Holder
The Magic Mountain
Keep in mind that you should speak to your doctor before attempting extremely strenuous physical activity. Have your pregnancy checked regularly.
