The birth of Prince William
Prince William was born on the 21st of June 1982 to Prince Charles and Lady Diana in St. Mary\'s Hospital. He was their first born son. His name was announced a week after his birth from Buckingham Palace. He was born the next Prince of Wales since Prince John in 1905. He was nicknamed \"Wombat\" and \"Wills\" by his parents.
Kate Middleton\'s birth
Catherine Elizabeth Middleton was born to Michael and Carole Middleton on the 9th of January 1982 at Royal Berkshire Hospital. She was christened at St Andrews Bradfield on the 20th of June, 1982. Kate has two younger siblings, Phillippa and James.
Prince William as a child
At the age of 9, William was accidentally hit on the side of his forehead by a student holding a golf club. He was immediately admitted to Royal Berkshire Hospital, his skull was fractured and due to an operation, he has a permanent scar. He now refers to his scar as \"the Harry Potter scar\" because only a few people notice it. William was educated in independent schools, Jane Mynors\' nursery school followed by Wetherby School.
Kate Middleton as a child
Kate\'s parents lived in Amman, Jordan from 1984 to 1986 due to their jobs at British Airways, during these years, Kate went to an English language nursery school. After returning to England, Kate went to St Andrew\'s School in Berkshire. She then left Downe House School, an all-girls boarding school, at age 13, due to bullying.
Prince William as a teen
William was admitted to Eton College after passing entrance exams. He studied geography, biology and history of art for his A-levels and got an A, C and B respectively. William was the captain of the football team at Eton College and also took up water polo. After graduating from Eton College, William took a gap year and took part in British Army training exercises in Belize, visited Africa and worked at English dairy farms and taught children in southern Chile. In 2001, William enrolled in the University of St Andrews. His enrollment increased the number of applicants, of which were mainly young women who wished to meet him. He graduated with an upper second class honours degree in geography.
Kate Middleton as a teen
After leaving Downe House, Kate attended Marlborough College, a co-educational independent boarding school. She faced issues with boys as a teenager, the boys in school would rank the new girls and reportedly ranked Kate a 2 out of 10. However, Kate got past this and passed 11 GCSE subjects and 3 A level subjects. She went on to attend the University of St. Andrews. It was reported that her mother pushed her into going to St. Andrews, to win over William, while she wanted to attend University of Edinburgh.
Prince William and Kate dating
The two met in early 2001 at the University of St. Andrews where their rooms were located close to each other in the St. Salvator\'s Hall of residence. In 2002, Prince William and Kate began dating. In the same year, Prince William and Kate searched for a house to live in their second year of university and they ended up sharing a house with their friends. In 2006, the two were photographed kissing and soon their relationship was made public. During April 2007, the couple was reported to have split up, because Kate felt as though William wasn\'t giving her enough attention and was spending too much time with other women. Two months later, the couple got back together.
The engagement
October 2010, Prince William and Kate got engaged in Kenya. They were engaged with the same ring that belonged to William\'s mother, Princess Diana. This was a symbolic act for William, because he felt as though he was uniting his mother and his fiancé, and that his mother wasn\'t missing out on anything.
The royal wedding
The couple got married on the 29th of April 2011 in Westminster Abbey. The estimated global audience for the wedding was at least 300 million. The cost of the entire wedding event was reportedly 20 million pounds. Kate Middleton\'s wedding dress gained a lot of buzz when it was revealed that it was designed by Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen.
The birth of Prince William and Kate\'s child
It was announced that Kate was pregnant with her first child on the 3rd of December, 2012. Kate gave birth to a baby boy on the 22nd July, 2013 at St Mary\'s Hospital. The baby boy is reported to have weighed 3.8 kg at birth. The couple told the media that they were still working on a name and when asked about the baby\'s health, William said, \"He\'s got more hair than me, thank God!\"
