SINGAPORE – August 3, 2025 – Last month, Whistle Woods Schoolhouse welcomed visitors to experience its thoughtfully designed preschool nestled beside Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Among the invited guests were parenting voices @raynexbb and @yanessaw, who shared their visit with thousands of parents through stories, reels, and honest reflections.
More than just a school, Whistle Woods is a quiet sanctuary where young children are treated with respectful care and given freedom to grow. Rooted in the philosophies of Waldorf and Montessori education, the school nurtures the whole child through connection with nature, open-ended play, and wholesome food, all lovingly created by the founder and her team.
A Personal Perspective from Two Mothers
At the open house, Rayne (@raynexbb) and Yanessa (@yanessaw) explored the classrooms and gardens, met with the educators, and joined in a special tasting of the school’s freshly prepared meals. From savoury salmon risotto to naturally sweetened homemade banana muffins, each dish reflected the same values that guide the learning environment: wholesome and nourishing for both body and mind.
Both mothers took to Instagram to share what moved them most. Their impressions were heartfelt and sincere, capturing the school’s unique rhythm and attention to detail.
“Whistle Woods is such a special place,” shared Rayne. “Every meal is lovingly prepared in-house, and even the youngest children get to bake their own fresh bread. I left feeling surrounded by love and warmth.”
“It sparks joy the moment you walk in,” said Yanessa. “From the globally inspired meals to the calm, nature-based environment, everything is intentional. It’s a heart-led school where kids truly taste, explore, and flourish.”
Feeding the Body, Nurturing the Mind
At Whistle Woods, meals are not an afterthought. They are freshly cooked in the school kitchen each day, using wholesome and quality ingredients.

The founder personally curates each menu item with a global lens and a local heart, believing that a child’s curiosity and openness of the mind begin with the kind of food they eat: Think: Wholemeal pasta with grilled salmon and Cream of Broccoli, Quinoa rice with Chicken Barley Soup, Hand-Rolled Omelettes filled with Spinach and Fresh Fruits like Apples, Peaches, Lychees and Kiwis.

Believing that food shapes more than just physical health, Whistle Woods keeps added sugar to a minimum, which supports better focus, emotional stability and lifelong healthy habits. Juice drinks and juice from concentrates are never served. Instead, children are offered visually appealing teatime options like strawberry mint tea or red date and goji berry tea, besides the daily staple of low-fat, high-calcium milk.
Food is also woven into the learning.
Even the youngest children take part in bread-making, using just two organic ingredients to encourage healthy and original taste preferences: Doves Farm bread flour and cold-pressed virgin coconut oil. No added sugar.
What begins as a sensory experience for younger children, helping to build fine motor skills, grows into a more complex exploration for older ones, incorporating numeracy and early scientific concepts.

The bread-making activity at Whistle Woods reflects a deeper philosophy: that food, like learning, is most nourishing when it’s hands-on, shared, and guided with thoughtful care.
Now Welcoming Families for Regular & Flexi Enrolment
From barefoot nature walks to calming indoors, Whistle Woods is a space where children can grow at their own pace. The school now offers flexible enrolment for a minimum of one week to support families exploring their options.
