Parents, Take Note: 7 New MOE Kindergartens Will Open In 2024 And 2025

There are seven new MOE Kindergartens opening in 2024 and 2025.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that they will open seven new MOE Kindergartens in 2024 and 2025. The ministry released the list of upcoming MOE Kindergarten schools and their locations.

In a press release on Tuesday (25 May), MOE says this is to provide parents with even more choices for “quality and affordable pre-school places.”

When seven of these MOE Kindergartens open, the ministry will then have a total of 57 kindergartens by 2025. This means about 7,900 Kindergarten 1 places will be open in 2025.

All seven of the MOE Kindergarten locations will be sited within primary schools. Here are more details.

  • MOE Kindergartens work closely with the primary schools that are sited in and therefore, will support their students’ transition from Kindergarten to Primary 1.
  • They will also offer Kindergarten Care (KCare) services with each providing about 100 to 120 Kindergarten 1 places.

Registration for new Kindergartens

Registration for the seven new MOE Kindergartens will begin in February of the year prior to its opening. Further details on the registration exercise are said to be released in early 2023, for the schools opening in 2024.

Then eventually also in early 2024 for MOE Kindergartens opening in 2025.

KCare services will also be available in all school-based MOE Kindergartens for parents who may require a full-day daycare service. This will be set on Mondays to Fridays from 7am to 7pm.

More information on the new MOE Kindergartens’ partner Early Years Centres (EYCs) will also be made available later.

MOE also shared bits about the MOE Kindergarten Experience.

“The MK curriculum is designed by pre-school specialists to nurture children holistically, to be confident, possess strong social skills and have a good foundation in literacy and numeracy,” its official statement read.

“All MKs offer the three Mother Tongue Languages (MTLs) – Chinese, Malay and Tamil – to encourage bilingualism in the early years and help lay a strong foundation for language learning in the later years. MKs also work closely with the primary schools they are sited within, which further supports children’s transition from Kindergarten to Primary 1,” it added.
