LEGOLAND® theme park to open in 2012!

The first LEGOLAND® theme park to open in Asia-Pacific and the sixth in the world officially joins the global LEGOLAND® movement, by announcing a series of milestones with the complete installation of steelworks for its iconic roller coaster ride called the LEGO® TECHNIC. LEGOLAND® Malaysia affirms that development is on track for an exciting 2012 opening.

Spanning 76 acres of adventure geared with family fun, it is packed full of more than 40 rides, shows and attractions. Located in Iskandar Malaysia Nusajaya, 30 minutes from Johor Bahru, 20 minutes from Senai airport, and 20 minutes from Singapore, LEGOLAND® Malaysia is a full-day family theme park designed specifically for families with children ages 2 to 12. This new and exciting theme park is expected to open at the end of 2012, LEGOLAND® Malaysia is targeting to pull in approximately one million visitors during the first year of operations.

The LEGO® TECHNIC™ Test Track was unveiled and we’re given a glimpse of the main attraction of the theme park.  The LEGO TECHNIC Test Track rises to 20 metres above ground level and it will be among the first roller coasters built for young children at the park. The colourful carts of the ride will race through the sharp twists and turns of the test track. The highest point of the track will give ride-goers a bird’s eye view of the impressive LEGOLAND landscape and the breathtaking views of Iskandar Malaysia.

The LEGOLAND®  experience

The LEGOLAND experience underscores the need for entertainment and education. Having fun while playing and exercising a child’s imagination and creativity is a critical component to healthy development. In this highly digitised age, children are losing touch with the importance of experiential play, through sight, sound, smell and touch. LEGOLAND Malaysia seeks to bring back the focus of learning through play. We are also creating the perfect environment for families to bond together and this is a place where children are the centre of attention.
