Get Animated This School Holidays With Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network invites you to enter a world of animation at the Animate Your Life festival – a 16-day celebration of fans, fun and fans of fun! 

From Saturday 26 May to Sunday 10 June, Cartoon Network Animate Your Life will transform Gardens by the Bay’s Bayfront Plaza into a thriving world of cartoons.

Bringing characters from hit shows – The Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears, Adventure Time and Ben 10 to life – the festival will offer a fairground of fun inflatable obstacle courses, carnival games and creative workshops.

PowerPuff Girls

Looking to get creative? Cartoon Network has also partnered with local artist group, Band of Doodlers, to create a special Powerpuff Girls tribute. The live installation will be unveiled on Sunday, 27 May from 4pm and everyone is invited to leave their mark!

Adventure Time

Take a trip to the Land of Ooo and get lost in a maze with best buds Finn and Jake! Then, step into a magical Candy Kingdom with your favourite Adventure Time characters, Marceline, Princess Bubblegum and Lumpy Space Princess!

We Bare Bears

The bear bros are in the house and ready for fun! Splash-down the log-ride inflatable slide into a colourful ball-pit. Match-up and stack-up with a giant Bear Stack, or just snap a selfie in the cave that Grizz, Panda and Ice Bear call home.

Ben 10

It’s Hero Time! Ben Tennyson has harnessed the power of the Omnitrix and wants to put it in your hands! Join the Ben 10 Boot Camp and navigate through a series of exciting obstacles courses. Then get a group photo with Ben and his aliens in front of a cool trick-mirror.

If that isn’t enough to get you jumping out of bed, Animate Your Life will also offer a mix of fun activities including:

1. An interactive Animate Yourself booth where you can create your own likeness as your favourite character and print it on a t-shirt.

2. A mix of exciting Carnival games testing your agility, accuracy and skill.

Hands-on Classes

Those who are keen to participate in art classes to pick up a new skill or two can choose from the 33 classes conducted by 20 visual artists specialising in various art forms such as watercolouring, caricature, sketching, abstract art, doodling, lettering, calligraphy, drawing and colouring.

New ‘Colour To Life’; AR Experience by Faber Castell

Yet another festival highlight is the new Faber Castell ‘Colour To Life’ experience, which combines pencil colouring with an Augmented Reality (AR) based application.

Watch a child’s face light up in wonder as his/her personal creation comes to life. ‘Colour to Life’ is packed with a set of colouring book, consisting of five different characters over 15 pages, and Faber-Castell Connector Pens.

After colouring the characters, the pages are scanned via a QR code into the free downloaded app. Five
different games can also be played based on these characters.

Competitions with Prizes to be Won

On-site gaming competitions based on the ‘Colour to Life’ characters will be held at specific hours during the weekends for kids below 12 years of age. Prizes with a total value of S$600 will be awarded to the top three scores. The closing date for participation is on 2nd June 2018 at 23:59.

A Green Green Day of Artistic Adventures at Goodman Open House

Go green and be arty this school holidays at Goodman Open House – Re:Imagined, a family-friendly arts festival that offers art lovers of all ages a creative day out to enjoy.

Held in Goodman Arts Centre, Singapore’s largest arts enclave, the one-day festival and open house takes on, for the first time, a theme on re-imagining creative ways of art making in an environmentally sustainable fashion.

Kids Putt for FREE at Marina Bay Golf Course

Opened in November last year, Marina Bay Putting Course features 211 m of natural grass putting surface, varying lengths and undulations which make it fun and challenging for the whole family to enjoy. It, being a putting course, is suitable even for non-golfers who want to try a hand at golf and enjoy the outdoors.

During the school holidays from 26 May to 24 June 2018, kids who are 12 years and below will get to play for FREE at the 6-hole putting course when accompanied by a fee paying adult. Please contact 6345 7788 to enquire or simply walk in to play.

National Gallery Singapore presents Children’s Festival: Small Big Dreamers

National Gallery Singapore presents Children’s Festival: Small Big Dreamers to inspire visitors in imagining and reimagining the world around them through experiential art and active play.

Children’s Festival: Small Big Dreamers 2018 introduces visitors of all ages to Lee Wen, one of Singapore’s pioneer performance artists and a Cultural Medallion award recipient, through a special commission inspired by his life and practice – A Waking DreamSun-boy and Yellow Man.

Put on your creative cap as you start your journey in his dream-like world, where you can compose your own tunes, let your hair down, and put your agility and flexibility to a challenge as you manoeuvre around the obstacle course of ribbons or crawl under gazebos.

A Waking Dream: Sun-boy and Yellow Man is presented through a series of five immersive installations throughout the Gallery.  It will also be complemented with other works by international artists such as We Make Carpets (the Netherlands), teamLab (Japan) and Mark Justiniani (Philippines).

Happening from 4 to 10 June, 11 am to 8 pm at Waterway Point in Punggol, the event includes special stage performances and meet-and-greet sessions by Pinkfong and Baby Shark on 9 and 10 June, #ViuPinkfongBabyShark Dance Challenge Finals (10 June), exclusive Pinkfong and Baby Shark merchandise for sale and other interactive activities that will make for a fun day out for the whole family.

Children’s Festival @ Gardens by the Bay

This June school holidays, Moon Face, Saucepan Man and Silky will leap off of the pages of Enid Blyton's The Magic Faraway Tree, and entertain children at Gardens by the Bay’s Supertree Grove.

It is all part of the annual Children’s Festival @ Gardens by the Bay, which will run from May 26 to  June 10. This year’s edition of the festival centres on The Magic Faraway Tree and will recreate four lands from the series – Land of Toys, Land of Enchantments, Land of Tea Parties and Land of Nursery Rhymes.

Organised with the permission of the literary estate of Enid Blyton, this is the first large-scale Enid Blyton-themed event in Asia.

Martial FIT Wushu (9 June, 10:30am-12pm)

Brought to you by Singapore Martial Metropolis, Martial FIT Wushu, is a fusion of Kids Fitness and Wushu, introduced by a team of passionate coaches to help kids develop motor skills and values essential for daily life such as respect and self- discipline.

“Kin-esthetic” Parent-Child Drama Workshop (19 May, 10.30am–12pm)

 Conducted by PLAYinc, the Kin-esthetic: A Parent-Child InterACTiveLearning Experience workshop creates a comfortable space for parents and kids to bond through the mediums of play and drama.

Parents and children will get to learn about values and from each other, while enjoying a good time together through the carefully-planned course brought to you by senior theatre educators.

Let Chinese Language and Culture ROCK (20 May, 4pm–6pm)

 HAN Culture and Education Group will bring to you a series of wonderful activities suitable for both children and adults from hilarious video clips, cross-talk performances to skits.

Participants will also stand a chance to interact with the performers on stage. Other fun-filled activities include a cultural challenge, language games and guessing games.

Not only will participants get to learn Chinese words, one can also stand to win attractive prizes.
