How To Protect Your Family As Dengue Clusters Sprout Across Singapore

How To Protect Your Family As Dengue Clusters Sprout Across Singapore

As a new mom who birthed her first child during a global pandemic, I am borderline paranoid when it comes to the health and well-being of my baby. Just like all moms, the last thing I want is for my infant to fall sick because of a mosquito bite, especially when I know I can avoid that by taking the right precautions. I trust Baygon. You should too.

Singapore’s tropical weather makes it a prime breeding ground for insects throughout the year. While most of these insects can be a nuisance, mosquitoes are more than that. Mosquito bites can be harmful to the skin causing rashes and itching, and some breeds cause more serious health issues and diseases like malaria and dengue.

In fact, global incidences of dengue have surged rapidly over the past decade with an estimated 390 million infections occurring worldwide each year, and the Asia Pacific bearing about three-quarters of the global dengue disease burden.

In Singapore, in 2020, there were 35,315 reported cases of dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever. This was a steep increase from the number of cases reported in 2019, which was 15,998. A closer look entails the dramatic surge in dengue cases in the city-state: 6105 dengue cases were reported in the week ending 8th January 2022, 29 cases more than the number reported in the previous week. As of 10th January 2022, there were fourteen active dengue clusters, with four large clusters at Jalan Bangau, Genting Lane, Cleantech Loop and Dunearn Road. The National Environment Agency warned on 25th January that cases could surge in the coming months if the current high population of dengue-carrying mosquitoes remains unchecked.

As these trends continue, it is extremely important to get rid of dengue-bearing mosquitoes and other harmful insects. This is where I choose Baygon for my personal and familial safety.

Why I trust Baygon to help get rid of dengue-bearing mosquitoes and other harmful insects

As a new mom who birthed her first child during a global pandemic, I am borderline paranoid when it comes to the health and well-being of my baby. Just like all moms, the last thing I want is for my infant to fall sick because of a mosquito bite, especially when I know I can avoid that by taking the right precautions. Baygon is a trusted brand that has been around since 1967, and I trust Baygon to help protect my family from mosquitoes and other insects. Plus, the fact that a lot of my mom friends swear by the brand too reassures my faith in it. One such friend of mine is Shubh who I have known for over four years now. She is a mom of two and a peer leader but because she is my friend first, I know when she posts something on her IG, her thoughts are genuine and honest. This is what she has to say about Baygon:

Not only Shubh and I, but many other moms and momfluencers in Singapore trust Baygon for their families. Tay Mui Keng Selena talks about how she prefers Baygon Liquid Electric which is odourless (for those with sensitive noses), quiet and an economical option to keep disease-carrying mosquitoes at bay.

Another mom, Elaine Heng shares how she prefers Baygon Double Nozzle Aerosol to help protect her kids from dengue outbreaks, and how the Double Nozzle, which is a new cap technology, provides fast and wide coverage for better protection against mosquitoes, ants, and roaches for the safety of her family.

With global health epidemics and disease outbreaks increasingly becoming “the norm”, we are living in a strange and scary time, and I trust Baygon to help protect my child and family from disease-causing mosquitoes.

Choose Baygon for your family’s health and well being

Baygon has been protecting families in Singaporean homes from dengue mosquitoes for generations and is a reliable brand. The spray comes in double nozzle packaging and is very easy to use. Furthermore, if you are anything like me and get headaches from bug sprays, fret not, Baygon’s odourless options have got you covered.

In our ongoing fight against COVID, we cannot afford to get complacent against other harmful diseases and health hazards. During these times, a walk in the park has become pertinent for our mental health but things can take an ugly turn if we are not careful.

Reports suggest that dengue cases here are expected to increase, as the population of the Aedes aegypti mosquito – which transmits dengue and other viruses – grew by about 30 per cent in April, compared with January last year, as per the National Environment Agency. So, please take all the necessary precautions and trust Baygon to keep your child and family safe from mosquitoes and other insects.
