Homemade baby food: Strawberry and milk purée

Strawberries are one of the best desserts nature can offer! They're good for both babies and adults as the fruits are high in fiber and filled with nutrients such as Vitamin C and folic acid.
All these vitamins and nutrients are great for good digestion and strong bones and teeth. (Did you know that strawberries also help whiten teeth?!) These sweet little fruits can be eaten in a variety of ways: baked, juiced or perfectly raw.

Age suitability: 12+ months
Suitability for freezing: Yes
- 1 cup of of breast milk or formula (or dairy milk/yogurt if your baby has already started on it)
- 1 cup of fresh strawberries (cleaned and cut into small pieces)
- Mix strawberries and milk in a blender or food processor.
- Blend until strawberries and milk mixture has turned to puree.
- Transfer into a bowl.
- Puree is ready to be served!
Note: You can also chill the puree before serving to turn it into a baby dessert! Additionally, you can add ½ cup of ice before blending together milk and strawberries to create a baby smoothie.
Strawberries are a common allergen and highly acidic food for babies, so it is recommended you don't feed strawberries to a baby younger than 12 months. For hygienic purposes, do ensure that the utensils and bowls/plates that you use to prepare this recipe are clean and dry.
