The forgotten children of the Syrian War
For 5 years, the war in Syria has ravaged not only the cities, but also the lives of the families that have been displaced, or have been victims of the crossfire.
When the photo of Omran Daqneesh, the Syrian boy that was rescued from the rubble in Aleppo, made the rounds on social media, all eyes looked at the small child covered in blood and soot. However, his ordeal is just one among many that have been experienced by the children of the Syrian War.
For 5 years, the war in Syria has ravaged not only the cities, but also the lives of the families that have been displaced, or have been victims of the crossfire. Dozens of children are either injured, or have already died as a result of the ongoing war, and these children of the Syrian War have largely been forgotten due to the short attention span of media.
We do hope that the Syrian War can soon be resolved peacefully, as no one, especially a child, deserves to live in a war-torn country.
