COVID-19: Singapore Reports 4th Coronavirus-related Death

The patient had a history of diabetes and hypertension.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Thursday (2 April) has confirmed that another COVID-19 patient has passed away from complications due to virus infection.

The case was a 68-year-old male Indonesian national who was a Singapore Work Pass holder. He had a travel history in Indonesia from 20 January to 16 March.

The patient was admitted to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) on 22 March, and was confirmed to have COVID-19 infection on the same day, MOH said.

He had been cared for in the intensive care unit (ICU) since 26 March.

According to MOH, the patient has developed serious complications and eventually succumbed to the infection after seven days in the ICU. He had a history of diabetes and hypertension.

NCID has reached out to his family and is extending assistance to them.

He is the fourth of such death in Singapore.
