Chemical in Pregnant Women Can Abate Fatal Effects of Cancer

A recent study shows that a chemical produced in the bodies of pregnant women may be a potent cancer drug. The chemical Alph-phetoprotein or AFP was seen to have stopped the growth of tumours and prevented new ones from growing.

Scientists believe that this is a breakthrough in the medical field but they acknowledge that further tests still have to be made before breast cancer patients can benefit from the healing effects of AFP.

Experts say that a healthy diet and regular exercise are the best ways to lower risk of breast cancer.
