Cheated on While Pregnant, Woman Says Revenge is Not Worth It
Lorraine Donoghue hopes her story will teach other women that no good can come from taking revenge on an unfaithful partner.
What would you do if you found out your husband or wife was cheating on you?
Would you declare all-out war? Or would you suffer in silence?
When 32-year-old Lorraine Donoghue of Falkirk, Scotland found out that her partner Willie Crawford was cheating on her while she was pregnant, her world shattered.
To add insult to injury, Lorraine claims that he was with his mistress while she was giving birth to their child.
She told the Daily Record, “I couldn’t believe he would do this to me. When I realized she knew about me too and was happy to sleep with him behind my back when I was pregnant, it just left me speechless.”
How did she find out?
The mom of three found out about the affair six weeks after she had given birth.
She says she found a pair of underpants that did not belong to her as well as a sex toy under their bed.
She hopes to admit to the world what lengths she went to just to take revenge will serve as a lesson to all women who find themselves jilted and overwhelmed with the need to hurt their philandering partner back.
What did she do about it?
When she hacked into her 37-year-old partner Willie’s Facebook account, she was horrified to find graphic photos and videos of him with his 18-year-old lover.
Overcome with rage, she then sent screenshots of the obscene exchange to six different people, including the teen’s mom and boyfriend.
She regretted it immediately
Although it was momentarily gratifying, Lorraine quickly regretted it.
Last October, a case was filed against her for using a public electronic communications network to send indecent messages. Then, her name was added to the sex offender’s registry, a database usually reserved for rapists and paedophiles.
She was then removed from the sex offender’s registry in December because her offence did not involve any “sexual aggravation”.
But she was required to complete 120 hours of supervised community service within 15 months.
A cautionary tale for jilted women
Looking back on what happened, Lorraine found that none of it was worth it.
“I know it was stupid, but it was done in a moment of utter madness when I was so deeply hurt,” she told Daily Record. “I am a mom and have kids to think about and I shouldn’t have done what I did.”
She has since left Willie and simply wants to move on with her life and wants other women who find themselves in a similar position to think before they act out in intense emotion.
“I just want to put the mess behind me,” says Lorraine. “But I want other women to be aware of the real dangers of getting back at any cheating lover.”
