Breastfeeding is hard—how do I keep going?

Breastfeeding is hard—how do I keep going?

Breastfeeding is just so hard, and I feel like giving up.

Some women adjust to breastfeeding easily without any problems while others find it hard to learn, or face certain breastfeeding problems. If you are feeling discouraged, remember that you are not the only one.

Don’t give up until you have contacted a lactation consultant or breastfeeding supporter. These experts can watch you feed your baby and make recommendations to help improve the situation. Breastfeeding takes practice. Give yourself as much time as you need to get the hang of it. Take it a day at a time and tell yourself that things can only get better. By the time your baby turns six weeks old, you’ll have no problems breastfeeding.

If you are a first-time mum, you can also check out these things you should know about breastfeeding.

These answers have been brought to you by The Breastfeeding Experts Website proudly supported by Philips AVENT.

theAsianparent also has a Singapore Breastfeeding Mums Support Group that you can join for mum-to-mum advice.Breastfeeding mums support group cover - 12-3-15 alt 2
