9 Best Places to go for Babymoon

With all the planning and preparation that my husband and I were doing when I was pregnant, we sadly missed out on our one and only chance of going on a babymoon. Although he’d try to console me by saying that we could always plan a getaway with our 1-year-old daughter in tow, it just wouldn’t be the same as the 2 of us going on a holiday to enjoy some alone time before becoming a family of 3.

A city overlooking the sea, Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Sabah, Malaysia. Enjoy nature and wildlife tours, visit Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park or wander along the Kota Kinabalu night market for some night time food adventures.

For a one of a kind experience that will surely bond you together during your babymoon, go visit the Mari Mari Cultural Village to get a glimpse of some of the different indigenous tribes. Though set up in the jungle, the place is easy to explore by walking -- a perfect gentle exercise for you, your spouse and your bump.

If you’re looking for ideas on what to do during your babymoon in Bali, perhaps you could follow the footsteps of theAsianparent reader, Cindy Gan who went on a babymoon to the Island of Gods last July to catch the Kite Festival. Besides that, Cindy also did some swimming and had a prenatal massage during the trip, and enjoyed some beach time with hubby and their baby in her tummy.

8. Phuket - $239

The largest island in Thailand and blessed with scenic beaches, Phuket has long been a destination for honeymooners, backpackers and all kinds of travellers.

As babymooners, what else can you do other than default beach getaway? Try going on a tour of the Chalong Bay Rum Distillery -- your husband will love you more for it! Let him drink and be merry before he goes on daddy duty. Some of the things that you can do together, though, are to pamper yourselves at luxurious spas, take cooking classes to learn traditional Thai dishes, and watch the best sunset from Phromthep Cape.

9. Koh Samui - $409

Koh Samui in Thailand has a lot to offer. The Angthong National Marine Park with white sand beaches and thick mangroves and the picturesque Na Muang waterfalls are must-visit attractions for an eco-friendly babymoon experience.
