9 tips for better sex when pregnant

22 Jun, 2012

Your body is changing and you should be proud! Admire and embrace your body - the last thing you should do is think you’re fat and ugly. 9 tips for better sex when pregnant - things to think about when considering sex while pregnant!

1. Here comes sexy mamma

1. Here comes sexy mamma

If you ain’t feeling all that sexy, make an attempt to do so – it will give you an instant pick-up. Get your hair done, go for a makeover, and wear some sexy lingerie that compliments your body.
2. Act sexy first

2. Act sexy first

Did you know, that smiling induces the release of endorphins? Those are happy hormones! Apply that same concept here - if you act and feel unsexy, your partner may back off and mirror your actions. Act sexy first and the rest will fall into place!
3. You are beautiful to him

3. You are beautiful to him

Don’t go on thinking that you’re no longer attractive to your husband even though you may feel like a cow and think you even look like one. You’re only making yourself feel depressed. In fact, most men find their wives’ voluptuous and curvy bodies a major turn on.
4. Share your gorgeous figure with your husband

4. Share your gorgeous figure with your husband

Chart your pregnancy milestones with your man—don’t hide your tummy or your darkening nipples. It’s all a new and exiting journey of discovery together. Tell him that your full breasts are "all his and only his"— unless they are feeling too sensitive to be touched. That will be such a turn on for him!

Suggestion: Lie nude on your bed while watching and feeling the baby move inside you. This experience is a moment the both of you can share. Take photos of your growing belly or your changing body. Think of it this way, your man will have his very own pin-up model!
5. Open up with sex talk

5. Open up with sex talk

Communicate with your spouse and let him know how pregnancy is affecting you sexually. Cross out resentment by laying all your cards on the table. Both of you have a right to feel what you’re feeling.

Some dads are afraid of having sex with their wives because they are afraid of hurting the baby and vice versa. Ladies, tell your man what turns you on. Guide him so he knows what works for you.
6. Romantic rendezvous

6. Romantic rendezvous

Before the baby comes along you should pack in some weekend rendezvous, shorts trips, travel, date nights and romantic getaways. The best time for sexy retreats? The middle months of your pregnancy, of course.

During your second trimester, morning sickness and fatigue decreases and many ladies peak in sexual cravings—hormonal surges plateau and this is usually known as the "honeymoon" of pregnancy. Oh yes, there is heightened sensitivity in your erogenous zones. Have fun!
7. Choose the right positions

7. Choose the right positions

There are some positions that are better for you during this tender period. Check out our post on suggestions of sex positions during pregnancy--it is a dad's guide to pregnancy sex! Experiment, but carefully, find out what works for the both of you!
8. Don’t do it because you’re guilty

8. Don’t do it because you’re guilty

Don’t do it just because you think that your partner may not be pleased with you not feeling the mood lately. Sex should not be an obligatory act. Be open and honest with each other. The pregnancy period will not last forever. Try and make the most of it and treasure this special time.
9. Let go and have fun!

9. Let go and have fun!

Laugh, giggle and simply let go. You’re going to run into some clumsy sex moments due to your baby bump. So what? Just have fun and go with the flow.
