Connect Singapore – Heartware Network
Heartware Network will be organising the first “Connect Singapore” event, the largest citizenship event connecting Singaporeans in our history. The aim of this event is to bring 30,000 youths together to hold hands and form the ‘heart’ of Singapore on 8 August 2008. Together, they will recite the national pledge with President SR Nathan.

Countdown to NDP and Celebrate National Day At Esplanade
Come and celebrate National Day at the Esplanade where various events and activities including local music group performances and graffiti art demonstrations will be held in conjunction with NDP 2008 from 8 to 10 August 2008. The NDP 2008 Countdown Party will be held on 8 Aug from 11 pm.

Young NTUC Presents Flag@Padang
Young NTUC will stage the largest outdoor Day and Night mass Human Singapore Flag display entitled “Young NTUC Celebrates! National Day 2008 Flag@Padang” on 9 August 2008 to celebrate the Nation’s 43rd Birthday. There will also be a post-NDP 08 Party held at the Padang.

Live Telecast of NDP 08 around Marina Bay Area
At the Padang, three large screens will telecast NDP 2008 live as part of Young NTUC’s Flag@Padang Celebrations. A large LCD Screen at Merlion Park will broadcast NDP 2008 live as the public is expected along Esplanade Walk and Merlion Park to view the NDP Flypast, RSAF Black Knights Aerial Display as well as soak-in the spectacular NDP fireworks.

Visit the Istana
The Istana grounds are open to the public annually in celebration of the following occasions: Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya Puasa, Labour Day and National Day. Opening hours are usually from 8.30am to 6pm.

Heart Rock Concert – “Come Together”
Family Life Centre, a charity and voluntary welfare organisation has come forward to organise a concert as part of NDP Celebrations on 16 August 2008, from 5.30pm to 11pm at the Marina Bay Floating Platform entitled “Heart Rock Concert – Come together”. Established performers for the concert include Anita Sarawak, Cats in the Cradle, Tania, Eunice Olsen, NAFA Orchestra, Amy Azyza, Moliano, Aurigami, Kuo Po, Jazz Kids, Tan Soo Koon and many more.
