Girl, 7, gang raped by 10-year-old boys

Malaysia is reeling in shock due to a recent gang rape case where a 7-year-old girl was repeatedly raped and sodomised by four boys between 10 and 11 years old.

It is learnt that the girl was playing near her house when the boys invited her to follow them to the hut, about 2km from her home, at 10am on the day the crime took place. The girl claimed that she was forced to strip before being held down by the boys as they took turns raping and sodomizing her.

She screamed in pain but the boys, who are not even old enough to carry identity cards, ignored and continued sexually assaulting her.

After raping her, the wicked boys warned her not to tell her parents what happened. In pain and in fear that it will happen again, the girl agreed. She did not dare to tell her parents of of the traumatic incident because she was under the mistaken belief that she were the one at fault.

The boys however, went around trying to show off by telling their friends about the repulsive act. News eventually reached their school teachers, who contacted the girl’s parents and notified the police.

The girl’s parents told the press:

“When we found out about it, we brought our daughter to the hospital for a check up, then we lodged a police report. The doctor told us that our daughter was sexually violated more than once after examining her injuries.”

The girl’s parents are stunned and horrified over the crime and are hopeful that the culprits will be punished by the law. They have also asked that counselling should be provided for their daughter to lessen her trauma over what she had gone through.

Police have arrested three of the boys, aged between 10 and 11. The case is under investigation.

Underaged sex criminals

As appalling as this might sound, this is not the first case where underaged boys –who may or may not be aware of the purpose of their genitals — have committed sex crimes.

In 2004, the then 12-year-old Kyle Abdo, became the youngest person ever to be convicted of a sex crime for rape in the UK. Abdo, who was 11-years-old at the time of the crime, raped an 8-year-old girl in his mother’s bed.

It was learnt that Abdo and his victim were playing a game of hide and seek when the girl chose to hide under the bed in Abdo’s mother’s bedroom.The then 11-year-old, grabbed her from under the bed, threw her into the bed and then forcefully raped her.

He was sentenced to 30-months detention in a juvenile centre.

In 2009, also in the UK, two 10-year-old boys were charged as adults for raping an 8-year-old girl. The victim and her 5-year-old neighbour, a boy, were playing in a field near their homes when the boys showed up.

They told the girl to pull down her pants before taking turns to rape her in front of the 5-year-old boy. They then asked the boy to go and fetch the girl’s 5-year-old younger sister so that they can “do it to her too,” but the boy went and fetched the victim’s mother instead.

When cases like this happen, we as parents or in fact, as adults have to sit back and wonder how such awful things can take place. It is not so much that the victims are as young as they are, that in itself is unthinkable, but how could such an atrocious thing have been committed by ones so young?

What could they possibly be exposed to, that they would commit such a crime?But most importantly, are they even aware of the significance and the evilness of their crime…or is it simply a game to them?…A game of sexual conquest that they have not yet come to understand but are dying to be a part of.

Could these young sexual deviants be exposed to acts of sexual aggressions at one point or another in their young lives? Could the adult males in their lives be sexual deviants as well? Were they listening in to stories of sexual conquests by the adult males in their lives and endeavour to emulate that?

Or are they evil right from the start despite the nurturing they were given?

When it comes to cases like this, we could not pinpoint or even speculate what could have happened without knowing the full story and the reasoning behind the awful things that these boys did. For all we know, the boys themselves are victims of sexual crimes themselves and by being the sexual assaulter to someone else, they cope with what happened to them.

We do not know, nor do we dare to speculate.

What we will say is this: keep a close eye on your young ones and who they are mixing with. If there is one thing we can learn from these gruesome stories, adults are not the only ones capable or hurting children, children are capable of hurting children too.

And of all the terrifying things we have heard, that could be the most terrifying of all.
